Storytime with Pops

Pops arrived in town today ... back to his summer pied-a-terre 72 steps from ground level! He joined us for dinner and while he was here, Caleb asked him to read a story. First he said he didn't know how to read ... then CJ caught him skipping pages!

What a weekend ... and its not over yet!

Caleb James has had quite the busy weekend spending time with friends and family. On Friday night, he had his little friend Tigger over for dinner. Would you believe that Caleb has a friend smaller than him? And he can walk!

Then on Saturday we headed out to NJ for Caleb's cousin Trey's 1st birthday! We had a great time in Trey's backyard celebrating his big milestone.

Oh, and of course CJ had his fill of summer bbq treats - corndogs (an entire one!) and corn on the cob.

On Sunday Caleb was visited by his Uncle Kevin, Aunt Natasha and Natasha's sister Sandhia. They brought him some neat gifts (including his very own cell phone so he doesn't need to borrow Dada's anymore and a Sponge Bob t-shirt) and Shake Shack for dinner!

A boy and his flash cards

As you can see, Caleb adores his flash cards. So much he's screaming with excitement!

A boy and his lemon

Tart is his preferred taste ... as you can see here. CJ likes eating lemons ... straight up!

Uncle Kevin's visit

Last Sunday, Uncle Kevin took the bus down from Boston to hang with Caleb James! They had a blast together. We spent a few hours in Central Park and played ball. CJ tried out his bat for the first time. He's pretty good. He may be on to something as his new favorite toy is the baseball Dad brought home from Mets stadium. He caught it during batting practice before the game!

Sr Sally and the cousins

Sr Sally is on vacation and spending time with Grammy and Sean so she decided to come in and visit Caleb ... and his cousins joined too! Everyone had fun playing and having bath time together. Then Uncle Ron babysat and Mom and Dad went to see the Broadway musical "9 to 5" with Sally, Grammy and Aunt Jen thanks to one of Sr Sally's benefactors. A great treat! Thanks, Sally!

Licking the bowl

Yesterday morning Caleb had yummy oatmeal for breakfast. He wanted to make sure he got every last bite!

Put me in the zoo!

Caleb James made his first trip to the Bronx Zoo today. He had a great time. He asked if he could stay and live with the gorillas but we'd miss him too much!

I can't wait to get to the zoo!

Caleb and Mommy with the giraffes. Their necks are so long!

Look at the gorilla ... he's coming over to say hello to us!

Boy ... looking at all those animals was exhausting. Naptime on the way home.

First Bike Ride Ever!

Caleb went on his first bike ride ever today! He and Daddy got suited up and headed out to Central Park for a ride around the lower loop. Mommy chased them so she could get some pictures. CJ loved every second of it!! He can't wait for his next ride.

Getting prepared - safety first!

How much spaghetti can Caleb fit in his mouth?

Today Carla brought some spaghetti and meatballs for Mr Garutti to have for lunch ... and he tried to see how much he could put in his mouth at one time! He is definitely Daddy's son.

Caleb in Charm City

This past weekend we took a family vacation in Baltimore, aka Charm City. And did we charm the pants off that city or what? We stayed on the Inner Harbor, walked all over the city, and had some great times at the National Aquarium, eating crabs, at ESPN Zone and going in the pool at the hotel. It was Caleb's first aquatic adventure (besides bath time!).

Playing on the grass in the Inner Harbor.

Sleeping in his chariot

Dolphin show at National Aquarium

Can Caleb really eat all these crabs? We bet Daddy can!

This pool is like my bathtub ... just 100 times bigger!

I don't know which TV to watch at ESPN Zone!
